Annemiek Hammer was born in Groningen, May 25, 1968.
In her sixth year she has started singing and dancing, played piano and wrote music from records. In her late teens she joined with several popbands in the music scene of Assen, which names as Cuby and the Blizzard, Kaz Lux and Herman Brood were very well known. In that period she sang as a regular member for 5 years in a sessionband formation in which all musicians from the surrounding could participate whenever they felt like it. In the meantime she took the cabaret coarse from Marius Monkau. She took vocal-training lessons in Groningen and performed in Theater Oosterpoort (Groningen), Theater De Kolk (Assen) and many pubs in the North. On her 25th she left the North of Holland to go study Jazz/Pop singing in Rotterdam at the Rotterdam Conservatory, where she graduated 4 years later.
During her conservatory period she took vocal-training lessons from among others Coco Yorck and Gerrie van der Klei. She took master classes from Jerry van Rooyen, Deborah Brown, Dee Daniels and Willem Nijholt. She learned arranging from Lex Hakker and Frans de Berg. She took piano lessons from Wouter Van Rhoon. Learned Jazz-History from journalist/teacher Ruud Kuyper. Sang in ''The Time'' under the direction of its composer Louis Andriessen and conductor Jurjen Hempel. After her graduation she performed with Tango Orchestra "Otra'' led by Leo Vervelde, in Musical Show 'Zapp', in '7 eventy7' entertainment group, with jazz/blues vocalist Curtis D'Arby, with pop/soul formation led by and with bassist Herman Voigt, with rhythm and bluesband 'Phil James & The Blue Flames', with guitarist Maurice Rugebregt, with bass-player Bas Kistjes, with drummer Jean Claire De Ruwe, with drummer Ares Lux and with pianists among others Johan Clement, Jan Willem Van Delft, Marc Van Den Beemt, Paul Maassen, Daan Van Den Hurk, Piano Pete Buden.
After her study she regularly took vocal-interpretation/improvisation lessons from Deborah Carter http://deborahcarter.com and Jeroen Manuhuttu http://www.jeroenmanuhutu.nl (introduceerde Sadolin Voice Training in Nederland/Complete Vocal Technique)
Her voice has the range of an alto and a soprano, what makes it widely available from Tango to Jazz from Soul to Musical. Because of its large range and variety of vocal colors she is sometimes compared to vocalist Rachelle Farelle.
Currently she sings Freelance/Solo Jazz, Soul, Pop.
She iwas vocalist in ‘’Vocal Jazz Trio Once’’. With ''Vocal Jazz Trio Once'' she performed among others in the serieconcerts of North Sea Jazz Around Town in Rotterdam and at DJS in Dordrecht (jazzpodium Dordse Jazz Stichting).
For ''Vocal Jazz Trio Once'' she arranged the songs of among others ''Beyond The Sea''/Charles Trenet, ''Beginners Luck''/Gershwin and ''Someday My Prince Will Come''/Morey-Churchill

Biografie
Annemiek Hammer is geboren in Groningen, 25 mei 1968.
Op haar zesde jaar begon zij al met zingen en dansen, speelde piano en schreef muziek van de platen af. In haar pubertijd trad zij op met diverse popbands in de muziekscene van Assen, waar o.a. Cuby and the Blizzards, Kaz Lux en Herman Brood bekende namen waren. In die periode zat zij 5 jaar in een vaste sessionformatie waaraan allerlei muzikanten uit de omgeving konden deelnemen. Ondertusses deed een cursus Cabaret bij Marius Monkau. Zij nam zanglessen in Groningen en trad op in de Oosterpoort, theater De Kolk en vele kroegen in het Noorden. Op haar 25e liet zij het Noorden achter om 4 jaar later af te studeren aan het Conservatorium te Rotterdam.
Tijdens haar conservatoriumperiode nam zij o.a. zanglessen van Coco Yorck en Gerrie van Der Klei. Zij volgde masterclasses bij Jerry van Rooyen, Deborah Brown, Dee Daniels, Willem Nijholt en leerde arrangeren bij Lex Hakker en Frans de Berg. Zij genoot pianolessen van Wouter Van Rhoon. Leerde Jazz-geschiedenis bij journalist/docent Ruud Kuyper. Zong in ''De Tijd'' o.l.v. van de componist zelf, Louis Andriessen en dirigent Jurjen Hempel. Na haar afstuderen trad zij op met Tango-orkest ‘Otra’ - o.l.v. Leo Vervelde-, in Musical Show ‘Zapp’, in entertainment groep ‘7eventy7’, met jazz/blues vocalist Curtis D’Arby, met pop/soul formatie o.l.v. en met bassist Herman Voigt, met rhythm and bluesband ‘Phil James & the Flames’, met gitarist Maurice Rugebregt, met bassist Bas Kistjes, met drummer Jean Claire De Ruwe, drummer Ares Lux en pianisten o.a. Haar stem heeft het bereik van een alt en een sopraan, waardoor ze breed inzetbaar is van Jazz tot Tango van Soul tot Musical. Vanwege haar grote bereik en diversiteit aan stemkleuren wordt ze wel eens vergeleken met vocaliste Rachelle Farelle.
Momenteel zingt zij Solo/Freelance Jazz, Soul, Pop
